Aquí no hay quien viva
(“no way to live here'') is a Spanish comedy series based on the everyday life
of an average neighbors community in a building in an undetermined location in
Spain. Aquí no hay quien viva was
directed by Laura Caballero and the first episode was broadcast on September
7th in the year 2003.

has 5 seasons, with a total of 90 episodes.
First season
It begins with the arrival in the community of Roberto and
Lucía, the young couple moved on to live on street Desengaño. There, they find
peculiar neighbors like Vicenta and Marisa, two sisters that always like to
gossip; Mauri and Fernando are a couple, but Fernando wants to pretend that
they are both just friends, however, finally Fernando admits that they are a
couple, a marriage between Juan Cuesta and Paloma and they have 2
children,
Concha is a retired woman who lives with her son Armando.
Concha rents her other apartment to two young girls Belen and Alicia, Paco is
an employee in the videoclub and Emilio, who works in the building, but Emilio
lives with her father, too. The first season goes on / takes place with fights
between neighbors.
Second season
It starts with Armando and Rebeca leaving the house;
meanwhile, Armando leaves his mother in a residency. He decides to buy his
mother's house. However, Concha escaped from that residency and she moved to
Vicenta and Marisa's house.The new owners of the house that Armando sold are
Guerra and Isabel and his sons (Alex and Pablo). Fernando settled in London,
nevertheless, Mauri felt lonely despite the fact that Fernado visited him
sometimes. However Mauri decided to share his apartment with Bea who meet her
in the videoclub, Bea would like to be a mother but she couldnt be one because
she is a lesbian and that ends up being artificially inseminated by
Mauri. Emilio fell in love with a postwoman called Rocío; Rocío and Emilio were
about to get married but she noticed that in reality Emilio loves Belén. In the
last episode of the second season, Paloma falls out the window and enters a
coma while fighting Isabel across the patio, since she believed she was having
an affair with Juan.
Third season
It begins with Emilio moving to Belén`s house, but he didn’t
stay there too much. With the absence of Paloma, Juan's sister Nieves comes to
live with her brother. Lucía and Roberto break up and she decides to live in an
African country, meanwhile Roberto lives in an attic.
Emilio started to study in a university where he met his new
romance. Juan and Isabel turn into a couple but nobody knows that. After his
breakup with Fernando, Mauri begins a romantic relationship with Diego, Lucía's
brother. But finally, Fernando comes back to Mauri´s house, after the birth of
Ezequiel, son of Bea and Mauri, and finishes his relationship with the latter.
Alicia went to the United States of America with her boyfriend and Belén shared
her apartment with Ana. Carlos bought the videoclub, Lucía and Carlos decided
to get married but in the final moment she got married with Roberto, to divorce
a few days later when he cheated on her with Ana. In the final episode, while
the neighbors were enjoying their holidays in Benidorm, Paloma wakes up from
her coma and the building catches fire.
fourth season
It begins with the awakening of Paloma who is accidentally
run over by Isabel, returning to a coma. Lucía fell in love with Yago, however,
Lucia's father didn't approve of his daughter's relationship. Carlos and
Roberto rent an apartment. Belén, overwhelmed because she needs to pay
rent, decided to share her apartment with Ana, Bea and Carmen. Ana and Bea
started a relationship together. Belen begins to work in a fashion agency, where
she meets Pedro, with whom she ends up dating, and later discovers that he is a
millionaire.
That forces Carmen to leave because there is no space for
her, but she falls in love with Andrés, who is still living in the attic. Pedro
and Belen get married, but Pedro dies on the wedding night. Paco meets Lourdes
and marries her, but the marriage ends in divorce. Natalia becomes a surrogate
mother.
Last season
The first chapter shows Lucia's departure for Africa as a
missionary. Carlos and Roberto have also left the building: the first to a
psychiatric clinic, and the second to draw cartoons. Yago pairs up with Natalia
and goes to live at the Cuesta's house, sharing a room with José Miguel. Mauri
and Fernando get married at the same time that the three-way relationship
between Emilio, Belén and Paco ends up breaking up. Natalia gives birth to a
girl, Yamiley, assisted by Juan Cuesta, Yago and Mauri in the building's
elevator. After Yamiley's birth, Paloma dies. José Miguel falls in love with
Candela, although she is interested in Pablo. In the end, some termites cause
the eviction of the building because all its pillars and beams were made of
wood, except for the façade, which would be used by Rafael, Lucía's father, to
buy the houses and build a business complex.
In my opinion, “Aquí no hay quien Viva” is one of the best
Spanish series ever; I would recommend it to everyone no matter what kind of
series you are into. This series also has even subtitles in other languages
like English, Polish,…
